JOB SUMMARY:

The Paramedic will carry out all directives given to him/her by the ED Charge Nurse and by the Medical Director. He/she will ensure that optimal emergency medical services are rendered to the patients in the emergency department at Chadron Community Hospital. The paramedic will function under the guidance of the medical director and nursing/EMS leadership while using critical thinking and standing protocols to ensure safe and effective transport and in the field care of patients. He/she will provide interfacility transport when needed.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Assists in patient care in accordance with Chadron Hospital policy and procedure.
  • Effectively assesses his/her abilities and requests assistance as necessary for safe patient care.
  • Provides Advanced Emergency Medical Service as needed in response to emergency calls and calls for interfacility transports.
  • Provide in the field stabilizing emergency medical treatment necessary to safely transport patients to/from other facilities.
  • Effectively and actively assesses his/her abilities and requests assistance as necessary for safe patient care.
  • Maintains a focus on education to include timely recertification required education, and other opportunities of higher-level education.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Current NE paramedic license.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, PHTLS certifications, preferred.
  • Clean driving record with valid driver's license.
