Job description

Summary:

Receives, cleans, sterilizes and stores surgical instruments and equipment.
*** 4 days per week - flex schedule - weekend call on rotation ***

Responsibilities:

Performs and documents required quality assurance testing and inspections.Cleans, disinfects, decontaminates, and sterilizes surgical instruments and equipment using appropriate methods and substances.Properly disposes of bio-hazardous substances, chemicals, medical waste, and supplies.

Competencies:

ACCOUNTABILITY, CUSTOMER SERVICE, EQUIPMENT STERILIZATION, HAND HYGIENE, ORGANIZATION SKILLS, RESPONDING TO CHANGE, STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR

Education and Certification Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Additional Job Information:

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Required Work Experience: One (1) year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred.Other Information: Successful completion of a recognized training program in Central Sterile Processing preferred.
