Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, medication administration technology, and basic life support (BLS) certification is typically required. Adaptability, strong communication, and the ability to work independently are crucial soft skills for success in this flexible, on-call role. Unlike full-time nurses, Flex PRN RNs do not have set hours and can choose shifts that fit their availability, providing essential staffing support during busy times or staff shortages. This role offers flexibility for the nurse while ensuring that patient care needs are met in the facility.
