Position Summary

Capitol Technology University seeks a dedicated and dynamic Adjunct Instructor for Math Courses to join our faculty starting Fall 2026. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching undergraduate mathematics courses, including college algebra, statistics, Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations, as well as other general education math courses. This position requires teaching in person at our Laurel, Maryland campus.

Position Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s or Doctorate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field is preferred
  • College-level teaching experience preferred
  • Experience teaching undergraduate mathematics courses (e.g., algebra, statistics, calculus sequence, linear algebra, differential equations)
  • Ability to develop and deliver course materials aligned with curriculum standards
  • Strong commitment to student success and engagement
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Willingness to teach in person (day and/or evening classes)
  • Ability to stay current with developments in mathematics education and pedagogy

Essential Duties

  • Teach and manage mathematics courses, ensuring alignment with university standards
  • Facilitate engaging and effective classroom instruction across varying levels of mathematics
  • Adhere to university policies for in-person, online, and hybrid instruction
  • Maintain regular communication with students and provide academic support
  • Submit final grades within 48 hours of course completion
  • Participate in student learning outcomes assessment
  • Maintain office hours for student support
  • Assist in selecting course materials when requested
  • Complete additional duties as assigned
