The United States Capitol Police (USCP) safeguards the Congress, Members of Congress, employees, visitors, and Congressional buildings and grounds from crime, disruption, and terrorism. We protect and secure Congress so it can fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe, secure and open environment.Qualifications:
1.Must be a USCP sworn employee below the rank of Sergeant; have successfully completedyour probationary period; and attained the rank of Private First Class by theclosing date of this announcement.
2. Must not be in restricted leave status as of the date of selection.
3. Must be in a full and unrestricted duty status to attend, participate, andsuccessfully complete all required training courses related to this position asof the date of selection e.g., performance of duty injury, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), or Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)).
4. Mustnot have disciplinary actions for the last 3 years.
5. Must possess and maintain a valid REAL ID U.S. driver's license.
6. Must be available to work flexible hours, rotating shifts and possiblemidnight assignments.
7. Must meet all physical, instructional, and certification requirements for FLETC PTD instructors.
8. Must successfully complete the Physical Efficiency Battery (PEB) with a minimum score at or above the 40th percentile in each element.
9. Must complete required instructor certifications, including:
- Law Enforcement Instructor Training Program (LEITP)
- Law Enforcement Fitness Coordinator Training Program (LEFCTP)
- Law Enforcement Control Tactics Instructor Training Program (LECTITP)
- Use of Force Instructor Training Program (UOFITP)
- Basic Tactical Medical Instructor Training Program (BTMITP)
- Basic First Aid and Safety Training Program (BFAST)
- FLETC ITAP (Instructor Training and Assessment Program)
And any additional Department-required certifications.
Alleligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
