This role requires a strategic operator who can own end-to-end expansion programs from concept through execution, balancing innovation with operational excellence.

You will develop expansion strategies, manage pilot programs, build partnerships with external vendors, and coordinate across multiple internal teams to deliver vehicles and infrastructure that meet growing delivery demand. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to drive results in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
Key job responsibilities
Fleet Expansion Strategy & Execution
-Own expansion strategy and execution for assigned fleet segments, including vehicle selection, vendor partnerships, and operational readiness
-Develop multi-year expansion roadmaps that align with business growth projections and strategic priorities
-Build business cases that evaluate market readiness, infrastructure requirements, financial impact, and customer experience
-Define success metrics for new programs and track performance against targets
-Identify and mitigate risks to program timelines, budgets, and outcomes
Pilot Program Management
-Lead pilot programs to evaluate new vehicle types, operational models, and vendor partnerships
-Coordinate across product, operations, procurement, and Delivery Service Partner (DSP) teams to ensure successful launches
-Analyze pilot performance data to inform expansion decisions and scaling strategies
-Manage pilot timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations
-Document lessons learned and best practices for future programs
Cross-Functional Leadership
-Partner with procurement teams on vehicle sourcing, vendor negotiations, and contract management
-Collaborate with operations teams to ensure fleet readiness and DSP enablement
-Work with safety and compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements and establish safety standards
-Coordinate with real estate teams on parking capacity and infrastructure needs
-Provide strategic guidance to leadership on expansion opportunities, risks, and trade-offs
Ecosystem Development
-Identify infrastructure gaps that prevent fleet scaling and develop solutions to address them
-Build processes, systems, and tools that enable efficient fleet operations
-Partner with technology teams to automate manual processes and improve data visibility
-Establish standards and best practices that can scale across regions and vehicle types
Stakeholder Communication
-Ensure leadership visibility into program status, risks, and opportunities through regular updates and business reviews
-Present business cases and recommendations to senior leadership for decision-making
-Manage stakeholder expectations and align cross-functional teams on priorities
-Document program details and decisions for organizational knowledge sharing
A day in the life
Your day will be a dynamic blend of strategic planning, pilot program management, and cross-functional collaboration. You'll analyze expansion performance data, build business cases for new vehicle types or markets, and partner with operations and procurement teams to solve complex scaling challenges

From building a cohesive fleet strategy and evaluating pilot results to developing fleet ecosystem solutions that enable growth, you'll be the critical link ensuring Amazon's fleet expands efficiently to meet customer demand while advancing sustainability goals.
About the team
The Fleet Expansion team enables Amazon's last-mile delivery network to scale by developing vehicle strategies, managing pilots, and building fleet ecosystems. We work at the intersection of supply chain, operations, and innovation, partnering with internal teams and external vendors to improve customer experience, reduce costs, and advance sustainability. Our team operates with high autonomy, thinks big about delivery's future, and delivers results in ambiguous environments

We value diverse perspectives, bold ideas, and collaborative problem-solving.
