Job description

Redwood Credit Union is seeking an Assistant Manager of Retail and Fleet who will form a wide variety of management and sales duties in the day-to-day sales and service leadership of the dealership. Research, locate, and sell a variety of vehicles to Business Members in the purchase of new, pre-owned, and brokered vehicles, while simultaneously providing sales management to a team Auto Sales Advisors.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Management:
o Work with sales and service team members to ensure a timely and seamless purchase process for Members and guests.
o Demonstrate and train both service and product-knowledge standards.
o Assist in leading regular huddles with RCUAS team members.
o Assist in managing the CRM platform to ensure proper follow up, retention of Members and to seek out new prospective sales and Member growth.
o Motivate, counsel, coach and monitor the performance of the RCUAS sales and service team.
Fleet Auto Sales:
o Sell vehicles to business Members.
o Sell mechanical breakdown warranties, guaranteed auto protection coverage and other aftermarket related items.
o Prepare paperwork for the sale of the vehicle and loan.
o Research and solve Member problems and complaints in an accurate and timely manner.
o Perform all functions in a security conscientious manner.
Administrative and Support:
o Assist with completion of monthly reports and other tasks as needed.
o Create and submit invoices for payment for repairs, smog certifications and other reconditioning items on repossessed and in- stock vehicles.
o Ensure the immediate collection of sales proceeds on each vehicle sold.
o Lead and assist Auto Advisors to ensure sales paperwork is complete and organized.
o Responsible for moving cars and organizing dealership lot.
o Assure the close out of all deals sold at RCU Auto Services.
o Manage Sales Advisor's dealership and branch schedule, to ensure appropriate coverage.
o Partner with Assistant Manager in tracking and forwarding internet leads to Sales Advisors.
Other Functions:
o Visit businesses and branches to promote auto buying fleet services.
o Promote business and fleet services at community and other types of events.
o Work in conjunction with Business Services to grow and support Business Members.
o Assist in the continuous growth of dealer relations to enhance broker business.

Minimum Qualification: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of automobile loans.
  • Knowledge of selling automobiles and/or other vehicles.
  • Experience and knowledge to sell automobile accessories, mechanical breakdown warranties, and guaranteed auto protection (GAP), along with all aftermarket products.
  • Experience with DMV paperwork with the ability to complete and submit appropriately.
  • Ability to process vehicle sales paperwork.
  • Ability to collect trade-in titling documents and loan payoff information.
  • Excellent service skills.
  • Skill in the operation of a PC with word processing and spreadsheet software and internet access.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to follow through on tasks.
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of activities simultaneously and prioritize work.
  • Ability and desire to work in a team environment.

Licenses and Certifications
  • Ability to qualify for DMV Salesperson License.
  • Ability to maintain a valid California Driver's License.
  • Ability to maintain a Notary certification.
  • Ability to maintain insurance under RCU Auto Services insurance policy.

The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree, with a minimum of six years of combined experience in sales, service, and management.
Compensation: Base starting range: $88,330 to $116,379 annually + commission
Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
