Entry Level Fleet Mechanics Wanted - Must be flexible with working hours evening, weekends, and holidays.Must have valid Connecticut Drivers License, familiar with DOT and OSHA regulations

Purpose

The Fleet Technician I performs basic maintenance, repairs, and inspections on company vehicles and equipment, ensuring their safe and efficient operation. This is an entry-level position that works under the supervision of more experienced technicians and supervisors, providing opportunities to learn and develop skills in fleet maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicles and equipment for mechanical and safety issues.
  • Perform minor repairs and replacements of components under supervision, such as brakes, lights, belts, and hoses.
  • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting basic mechanical, electrical, and other system malfunctions.
  • Use hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and other specialized tools safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Follow safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist with vehicle and equipment washing and detailing.
  • Learn and apply technical knowledge related to various types of vehicles and equipment within the fleet.
