Job Summary

Manage all functions of the regional fleet and mobil equipment maintenance department including all shops, personnel and support equipment. Ensure all documentation requirements and records are maintained in accordance with governmental agency requirements and Cemex policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and schedules maintenance and repairs with the Regional Operations Managers in a timely manner to ensure maximum equipment availability. Revises schedules in the event of equipment failure or operating problems.
  • Prioritizes needed repairs and schedules maintenance crews accordingly.
  • Monitors and ensures that proficient repairs are done in a timely manner.
  • Communicates regularly with the Director of Operations on the repair status and issues.
  • Maintains compliance with all company and governmental agencies pertaining to operational, safety and environmental policies and procedures. Retains all required records and documentation for same.
  • Research, analyze and recommend more cost effective methods for the repair and maintenance process. Keeps abreast of all technical developments to maintain and improve knowledge and skills needed for superior job performance and to improve operational efficiencies...
  • Reviews and approves appropriate departmental purchases for equipment, materials and supplies and responsible for ensuring that budget objectives are meet.
  • Assist as directed in the preparation of operational and capital expenditure budgets.
  • Conducts timely performance reviews with all direct reports to advise and motivate employee development and performance.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Degree or its equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in fleet and mobil equipment repair and maintenance is desirable.
  • 2-4 years of supervisory experience is required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of ready mix concrete trucks and associated mobil equipment maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and costing techniques.
  • Basic computer skills, calculating and mathematical skills required.
  • Must have good knowledge and application practices of the DOT rules and regulations and Strong interpersonal skills for staff management and dealing with vendors or sub-contractors.
  • The ability to interpret reports, repair specifications and procedural manuals.
Working Conditions
  • Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
  • Must wear protective equipment while at the locationย 
Physical Requirements
  • This position requires knowledge and awareness of construction hazards.
  • May be required to occasionally use protective gear and to take other precautions when in or near a construction site.
  • May be required to lift 50lbs. occasionally.
