Job description

Specific Job Functions:

  • Greet and converse with guests, providing a warm welcome and engaging showmanship while taking cocktail orders.
  • Prepare and serve cocktails to customers following hotel guidelines, incorporating safe and impressive flair bartending techniques to enhance the guest experience.
  • Perform bottle flips, pours, garnishing flair, and other entertainment skills while maintaining accuracy, speed, and beverage quality.
  • Clean and organize bar to Beverage Department standards, ensuring presentation is inviting for guests.
  • Prepare orders to replenish stock at the bar to pre-determined par levels.
  • Provide exceptional and entertaining service to customers in a high-volume environment.
  • Follow departmental cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Prepare cocktails for cocktail servers promptly, incorporating small flair touches when appropriate.
  • Maintain high standards of service, guest engagement, and safety.
  • Maintain bar cleanliness and polish glassware to department standards.
  • Clean and organize work station to Beverage and Health Department standards.
  • Stand and/or move at a fast pace for periods of up to eight hours or longer.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of wine and champagne service, including at table games.
  • Leave workstation stocked and cleaned for the next shift.
  • Garnish drinks creatively and consistently.
  • Ensure correct health and sanitation practices are followed at all times.
  • Use correct glassware/stemware according to Beverage Department standards.
  • Greet each guest with a smile and a touch of performance flair.
  • Acknowledge every guest with a prompt and friendly greeting.
  • Handle cash, credit cards, and room charges in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Assist new employees with training, including flair basics where applicable, and answer questions.
  • Check IDs for guests who appear under 30 years old.
  • Replace dirty ashtrays by capping off with a clean ashtray.
  • React to management needs for special host requests.
  • Inform management of any problems, concerns, or special guest requests.
  • Be ethical, professional, and safety-conscious at all times.
  • Communicate with Management to keep them informed of all special requests from guests.
  • Answer telephone using proper telephone etiquette standards.
  • Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department.

Responsibilities/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2–3 years bartending experience in a high-volume hotel, restaurant, or entertainment venue; flair bartending experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to perform flair skills (bottle flipping, juggling, creative pours) in a safe, controlled, and guest-friendly manner.
  • Must be 21+ years old with valid work authorization.
  • Union Crafts (Pour) Card required.
  • Outgoing personality with strong communication and guest engagement skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of ABC laws and responsible alcohol service.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for long periods, and work quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirement:

  • Flair Bartending Audition: All candidates must complete a live audition demonstrating their flair bartending skills, speed, and accuracy during the interview process.
