Job description

POSITION: HEAD WOMENโ€™S FLAG FOOTBALL COACH

North Greenville University is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Head Womenโ€™s Flag Football Coach. Acceptable candidates must be enthusiastic, possess a strong work ethic, a valid driver's license, functional computer skills, and experience in playing and/or coaching flag football at the collegiate, high school, club, or competitive level. ย 

North Greenville University is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of Conference Carolinas.

DESCRIPTION:

The Head Womenโ€™s Flag Football Coach is directly responsible to the Athletic Director in all matters related to the operation of this program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaching proper skills and skill development to student-athletes.
  • Design and implement technical schemes and game plans for student athletes and thus have a great deal of independent discretion and judgment as to the manner and method of teaching.
  • Evaluation of game and practice film with student athletes.
  • Instruction of student athletes during practice sessions and games.
  • Proper care and routine maintenance of equipment and uniforms.
  • Securing team travel arrangements.
  • Recruitment of student-athletes, which includes off-campus contacts and evaluations as well as on campus visits and evaluations.
  • Responsible for supervising graduate assistants and work-study students.
  • Teaching student athletes positive Christian life skills.
  • Set vision and culture for the program.
  • Delegate and manage duties to assistant coaches.
  • Fundraising for the program.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Athletic Director.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mobility and ability to demonstrate basic flag football skills, instruct a flag football practice, move for 2 hours during practice sessions, and lift flag football equipment or other items of 50 pounds.
  • Hearing well enough to communicate with students and co-workers.
  • Visual ability to drive, read, and use a computer.
  • Communication with students well enough to dictate instructions.
  • Cognitive/Emotional โ€“ ability to critically think and concentrate.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

This position during 2026-2027 school year, the expectation is focused on recruiting the inaugural team and will be a part-time position. It will begin as a full-time position in Athletics during the 2027-2028 school year. The Head Womenโ€™s Flag Football Coach reports directly to the Athletic Director.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Coaches are required to work according to team schedules for practice, games, travel, and maintain normal office hours.ย ย 

TRAVEL:

Travel is required for games, recruiting, and attending required conference meetings.

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience as a player or coach required.
  • Supports NGU's mission statement and core values, commitment to a Christian lifestyle and character in keeping with a biblical model.
  • Affirm an understanding, and not advocate against, the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
  • Affirm understanding of the University's Statement on Human Flourishing.
  • Agree to abide by the employee handbooks, including community standards agreements.
