What is a professional flag football player?

A professional flag football player is an athlete who competes in organized flag football leagues at a high level, often for prize money or as part of a sponsored team. Additionally, balancing travel, practice schedules, and recovery is crucial to avoid burnout and injuries.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Professional Flag Football Player, and why are they important?

These skills and qualities are crucial for optimizing performance, ensuring team cohesion, and achieving success in a fast-paced, competitive environment.

Job description

OVERVIEW

Flag football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. Texas Sports Academy is one of the fastest-growing Kโ€“12 education brands.

This fall, Texas Sports Academy Flag Football will open its doors, with plans to be a national-caliber program from day one โ€” and the #1 school in the world for serious girls flag football players.

Any student with aspirations to play Division I, Olympic, or professional flag football should see this school as the place to attend.

WHERE YOU'LL COACH

Texas Sports Academy Flag Football would be hosted at Elite Performance Training, a world-class facility in the heart of Dallas Cowboys country. Students would train in an environment surrounded by fellow professionals, giving them a daily picture of what it takes to reach the next level.
THE ROLE

As Head Coach, you're the leader of the program and the connector across players, coaches, families, and the broader girl's flag football ecosystem. You'll set the culture, build belief in the next generation, and be the person these athletes look up to - on and off the field.

Here's what that looks like day to day.

  • Recruit the founding roster. You'll help build the inaugural team, sourcing 10โ€“15 elite student-athletes from your network.
  • Lead daily training. You'll run flag football training roughly 11:30amโ€“3:30pm every school day at Elite Performance Training, developing each player toward her ceiling. Academics come first: students behind on coursework train once they're back on track, consistent with TSA policy. The program follows the Frisco ISD calendar (https://www.friscoisd.org/calendar/frisco-isd-calendar).
  • Build a championship schedule. You'll work with Strategic Advisor Odessa Jenkins to design and manage a competitive game schedule. TSA sponsors approved uniforms, team equipment, and reasonable travel. (Schedule approved by Odessa Jenkins before finalized.)
  • Develop the whole athlete through Life Skills. Roughly two hours a week, you'll lead TSA-provided workshops that prepare athletes for today's NIL world โ€” Post-Game Press Conference (public speaking), Negotiate an NIL Deal (financial literacy), brand building, content creation, and more. We don't just build players. We build people who can own their value.
  • Media. From time to time you'll help create flag football course content, TSA webinars, and MasterClass-style video shoots.

THE GOAL

Top 10 in the Country by Spring 2027

We launch in August 2026 with 20 girls flag football student-athletes (grades 6โ€“12), a Strategic Advisor (Odessa Jenkins), an Academic Guide, and you. The target by Spring 2027 is a Top 10 national ranking on MaxPreps and national recognition as one of the best girls flag programs in the country.

THE TERM

A 12-month engagement, target June 15, 2026 โ€“ June 15, 2027.

Ready to build the program every serious girls flag football player wants to attend? Apply now.

Requirements

WHO YOU ARE

  • A proven flag football coach or pro-level player ready to lead and develop 6thโ€“12th grade girls
  • Deeply connected in the women's/girls flag football world, with a network you can recruit from

  • Comfortable on camera and in front of a room
