Summary
The Tax Administrator is a professional-level exempt position responsible for performing a broad range of complex tax compliance, reporting, and analytical activities in support of the Company's U.S. federal, state, and local tax obligations. This role requires the application of technical tax knowledge, professional judgment, and analytical skills to interpret tax data, evaluate compliance requirements, and support tax strategy execution. The position operates with a high degree of autonomy within established policies and contributes meaningfully to the Company's tax accuracy, risk management, and financial reporting integrity
Compensation
$61,949 - $74,338 yearly salary range. (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
Responsibilities
1. Advanced Tax Compliance & Reporting Execution
- Perform preparation, review, and analysis of U.S. federal, state, and local tax filings, including income, sales & use, property, and other indirect taxes.
- Interpret tax regulations and filing requirements to determine appropriate data treatment and compliance methodology.
- Analyze trial balances, general ledger activity, and supporting schedules to identify tax-sensitive transactions.
2. Tax Provision & Financial Reporting Support
- Prepare, analyze, and validate financial and tax data required for quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations performed by external service providers, including current and deferred tax components under ASC 740.
- Analyze and reconcile book-to-tax differences and deferred tax drivers, and prepare supporting schedules and documentation.
- Coordinate with external accounting firms and internal stakeholders to support accurate and timely tax provision reporting and financial statement disclosure.
3. Interpretive Analysis & Professional Judgment
- Apply independent judgment in evaluating tax data, resolving discrepancies, and determining appropriate tax treatments within established guidelines.
- Identify potential compliance risks or variances and escalate matters requiring managerial review with well-supported analysis.
4. Audit, Examination & Documentation Support
- Serve as a primary preparer of responses to tax audits, notices, and information document requests.
- Prepare technical explanations, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for internal and external reviewers.
- Maintain audit-ready workpapers and documentation aligned with internal control standards.
5. Systems, Data & Process Ownership
- Utilize ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel models to extract, validate, and analyze tax-relevant financial data.
- Own assigned compliance calendars, filing trackers, and documentation repositories to ensure timely and accurate execution.
6. Cross-Functional & Advisor Collaboration
- Partner with Accounting, Treasury, Payroll, and Operations teams to interpret financial data and tax implications.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors in preparing filings, provision data, and audit responses.
7. Process Optimization & Controls Enhancement
- Identify opportunities to enhance tax processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen documentation and internal controls.
- Contribute to the development of standardized templates, procedures, and best practices for the tax function.
8. Special Projects & Advisory Support
- Perform tax research and analytical support for discrete projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned to support evolving business and tax requirements.

Skills
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. federal and multi-state corporate tax concepts
  • Working knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accounting and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and professional experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment on technical matters within defined frameworks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exposure to indirect tax regimes (sales & use, property tax, gross receipts)
  • Experience in a corporate tax or public accounting environment
  • CPA/EA license or active progress toward certification

Education & Experience
  • Bachelors Required
  • 5 - 9 years of direct experience in Finance, Accounting
  • CPA license or active progress toward certification Preferred
