Job description

Position Summary:
Cerity Partners is seeking an experienced and analytical Junior Portfolio Manager - Fixed Income to support the management and oversight of fixed income portfolios. In this role, you will be an integral part of the fixed income team through assisting the Senior Fixed Income Portfolio Manager in the management and trading of separately managed fixed income portfolios primarily using individual bonds (taxable and tax-exempt) and ETFs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily update of portfolio data for accuracy around positions, cash, structures and distributions

  • Monitoring portfolio positions to identify potential risks

  • Determine bonds needed to maintain desired portfolio structures

  • Work with operations on proper trade execution and allocation.

  • Monitoring fixed income offerings and helping identify value

  • Conduct research and analysis of fixed income markets and securities

  • Monitor external research to highlight risks and opportunities

  • Prepare reports and presentations

  • Evaluating new and secondary bond issuances

  • Handling cash raise needs

  • Executing trades for bonds and fixed income ETFs

  • Overseeing daily cash management with focus on money market funds.

  • Assist with various other projects as needed

  • Follow firm policies and procedures, including all compliance policies as outlined by the company

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in investments, fixed income securities, and financial markets

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or related field

  • Familiar with Bloomberg and custodial platforms

  • Experience with order entry platforms and trade reconciliation

  • Understanding of economic, industry, company, and market fundamentals

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Good time management, organizational and communications skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Advanced knowledge of excel and power point

Compensation:

$80,000 - $130,000
