Job description

Overview

The Head of Fixed Income Product at Allspring plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the firmโ€™s fixed income strategy, with a focus on delivering long-term value for clients and the organization. In this role, you are responsible for collaborating with leaders across the organization to optimize the fixed income product portfolio, aligning it with the increasingly complex and solutions-oriented needs of institutional and wealth clients across markets.

This role requires a strategic thinker with deep investment knowledge in fixed income combined with a strong commercial mindset. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, influential leader who can partner cross-functional stakeholders, drive innovation, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, competitive products across distribution channels.

We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in-office 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

This individual will serve as a central point of contact across the organization to design, develop, and implement a global fixed income product strategy that aligns with Allspringโ€™s longโ€‘term vision and distribution channel needs. Integral to this role is the ability to craft a compelling vision that demonstrates the problem or opportunity a new strategy is seeking to address and how Allspring clients will leverage within their business. This individual will drive organizational buyโ€‘in to ensure successful execution and ensure disciplined tracking and follow through post implementation.

In addition to leading fixed income strategy, this individual will provide strategic support to the product managers responsible for ETFs, managed accounts, and capabilities distributed internationally.

  • Lead the full product lifecycle for fixed income strategies from ideation and development to launch and commercial optimization.
  • Support the dedicated product managers for ETFs, managed accounts, and capabilities distributed internationally by coordinating cross functional inputs, contributing analysis, and helping ensure cohesiveness and alignment across the broader fixed income platform.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine the product suite to maximize profitability, client relevance, and market competitiveness ensuring the product roadmap remains aligned with firmwide goals.
  • Serve as the primary crossโ€‘functional point of contact across Investments, Distribution, Legal, Compliance, and Operations, driving alignment and seamless delivery of all fixed income initiatives.
  • Work primarily with the Head of U.S. Product to shape fixed income for the U.S. market, while partnering with the Heads of Managed Accounts, ETFs, and International Product to ensure cohesion and support across global platforms.
  • Actively track initiatives, risks, decisions, and deliverables, ensuring all stakeholders remain accountable and that followโ€‘through occurs across the product lifecycle.
  • Analyze market trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activity in fixed income strategies to inform strategic decisions and guide asset optimization.
  • Partner with Distribution and Marketing to position products effectively for maximum commercial impact and ensure compelling goโ€‘toโ€‘market strategies.
  • Represent Allspring in seniorโ€‘level client meetings, investment committees, industry events, and internal leadership meetings - delivering highโ€‘impact presentations, articulating fixed income product strategy, and gathering insights to inform future product development.
  • Drive revenue growth through product innovation, pricing strategy, and close collaboration with Distribution teams.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability within the fixed income product team.
  • Contribute to the wider business through involvement in key governance and leadership committees relating to the fixed income products and ensuring cohesive decisionโ€‘making across the business.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (Masterโ€™s, MBA) or CFA designation preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in asset management, with 5 years in product strategy, development or management roles preferred. Client facing experience a plus.
  • Clear knowledge of industry trends and ability to couple with Allspring capabilities and strengths to set a vision and rally organizational support. Demonstrated track record of success, having worked with senior leadership and across channels to identify growth opportunities, drive innovation, optimize product portfolios, develop strategic plans, and maximize commercial opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizations and drive crossโ€‘functional alignment.
  • High emotional intelligence and people leadership skills; able to build and sustain a highโ€‘performance culture.
  • Remain in stationary position for prolonged periods of time
  • Operate computer programs and software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences in person and in electronic formats
  • Dayโ€‘toโ€‘day contact with others (coโ€‘workers and/or public)
  • Ability to work in a collaborative business environment in close quarters with peers and varying interruptions.

Compensation

Base Pay Range: $175,000 - $200,000

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or nonโ€‘annual incentive or sales plans.)
