Job description

Position Summary
The Associate Client Advisor will be an integral member of the TRB Trust amp; Wealth Management team. In this role, the Associate Client Advisor will be a financial planner and holistic advisor that is passionate about helping individuals and families make good financial decisions through comprehensive analysis that leaves no stone unturned. The Associate Client Advisor will work alongside TRB investment professionals and trust officers in delivering excellent client service. Areas of expertise would cover financial planning fintech, cash flow, asset location, spending priority, benefit elections, executive compensation, retirement, healthcare, monte carlo analysis, goals-based planning, etc. The associate will be expected to develop and implement a holistic financial planning process for high-net-worth TRB Trust amp; Wealth Management clients. Additionally, the associate will be expected to contribute to a wide variety of special projects with functional oversight by the Senior Client Advisor, the Chief Investment Officer, Chief Operating Officer and other senior members of the TRB Trust amp; Wealth Management team.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Expected to develop and implement a holistic financial planning process for high-net-worth TRB Trust amp; Wealth Management clients.
  • Gather information from many different places and organize it into digestible takeaways that help clients of many different backgrounds make informed decisions and help the overall TRB investment team make appropriate asset allocation recommendations.
  • Contribute to the decision-making process on complex fixed income portfolios, particularly for public entity clients.
  • Learn and stay updated on current developments within financial planning, including the income and transfer tax landscape, and how to best scale an advice-driven framework within our division.
  • Expected to support other members of the applicable service team in responding to client requests, preparing for meetings, and conducting research and analysis to ensure our advice across the spectrum is timely, accurate and customized when necessary. Occasionally, this may involve working with clients in TRB regions outside of Houston.
  • Comfortable with taking large amounts of data and synthesizing it into information that can drive decisions, give color to a client’s goals and behavior, and integrate with applicable financial planning fintech (eMoney, Right Capital, etc.).
  • Expected to feel comfortable with prospective clients and help develop new business and build the brand for TRB Trust amp; Wealth Management and Texas Regional Bank generally.
  • Handle sensitive, confidential, proprietary information with discretion
  • Travel to various bank branches on a recurring basis to educate local branches about services available to clients
  • Travel to bank branches and/or client sites to serve existing clients as well as to develop new client relationships
Other Responsibilities
  • Support and promote the Bank vision, mission and core values, organizational structure and policies and procedures.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance concentration preferred, economics or related field. Asset/wealth management experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in financial analysis, accounting, or other advisory tax or wealth management role.
  • Must have or be willing to work towards the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Experience with fixed income markets preferred.
  • Dedicated to continually learning and developing new skills and expertise.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility, professionalism, ability to work under pressure and perform a variety of tasks with numerous interruptions is necessary.
