Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant with 2-3 years of experience to join the PTSMC finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).


Key Responsibilities

  • General Ledger Management: Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, amortizations, reclassifications) and maintain the general ledger accounts
  • Month- End/Year-end Close: Assist with the timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly balance sheet and income statement analysis, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Annual Budgeting: Assist with annual budgeting & forecasting, monitor results against budget, identify variances and methods for improvement
  • Fixed Asset Management: Maintain fixed asset subledgers, including capitalization, depreciation runs, and disposals.
  • Data Analysis: Collect data, analyze trends pinpointing areas for improvement; prepare fluctuation & variance analysis vs. budget

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A CPA certification or progress towards one is a plus
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, advanced formulas)
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software/including Sage, CCH and QuickBooks

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
