FIX Integration & Production Support
As a member of the FIX Integration and Trading Support team, the Analyst will work with the team to provide FIX (Financial Information eXchange) integration, electronic trading support and trade clearance services. To be effective, each member of the team must work closely together and be able to take on each other's tasks as needed. From a FIX integration perspective, the Analyst provides FIX consultation, technical and network integration services for all connectivity and electronic order flow to our FIX Infrastructure. From a Trading Support perspective, the Analyst provides high quality service and support to the institutional clients. Product coverage includes Equity trading, Soft Dollars, New Accounts, Middle Office and Clearance/Allocation. Through the expert understanding of the FIX protocol, connectivity and order/message routing life cycle; business, operational, and end-client needs, supported by knowledge of ourproprietary trading platforms and business logic, the FIX Integration and Trading Support Analyst will strive to deliver these services in a timely and error free manner, providing the customer with the best possible client experience.
Role and Key Responsibilities:
Integration
• Establish FIX trading connections to and from LTA's products with clients, OMS/EMS vendors and other technology service providers. For each project, design, develop and configure business logic and optimal routing, configure software, initiate network change requests, and perform extensive certification testing. Manage production integration timelines with internal and external stakeholders.
• Independently manage client and business expectations and communicate their needs internally while acting as the subject matter expert for FIX connectivity and order routing into LTA.
• Assist in troubleshooting production order routing and trade issues, as a subject matter expert responsible for the original connectivity (OMS, FIX network, business logic/routing configuration)
• Acts as a liaison between clients, vendors, product management and systems development for all FIX/order routing issues and enhancements.
• Participate in process redesign efforts independent of systems development with a focus on process improvement opportunities within LTA Integrations and with other internal & external stakeholders.
Electronic Trading Support
• Ensure uninterrupted proper function of the trading infrastructure and by continually monitoring order performance, message traffic levels and alerts
• Respond to client inquiries related to order routing, order/execution status and allocation
• Manage production issues and outages by providing both internal and external status updates, addressing impacted orders and assisting in the recovery or failover of systems
• Monitor and ensure timely and accurate allocations for equity trades
• Resolve issues with unallocated trades, incorrect allocations, money differences, trades that are not settling, clearing, or comparing, bad account instructions, and closed accounts.
• Timely and accurate resolution of all trade breaks and compliance reporting issues (OATS, ACT, etc).
• Establish and maintain contacts with clients, and other parties involved with order routing and execution, allocation, clearance, and settlement.
Qualifications - Education, Experience & Skills
• Monitor error accounts, including running, covering, and documenting errors, as well as providing timely (flash) reporting on all errors.
• Analysis of internal operations, seeking ways to improve work flows through automation.
• Acting as Subject Matter Expert on relevant projects as needed
• 3 to 5 years' experience implementing trading connectivity, trading operations and/or in an equity trading support
• 7 to 10 years' experience in trading, technical implementation, middle office operations or trading technology strongly preferred
• Knowledge and experience with project management, technical implementation methodologies, compliance/compliance reporting and equity trading technology
• College degree required
• Strong knowledge of FIX protocol and ability to analyze and decompose internal and external nuances in FIX specifications
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, project management and technical forensic analysis skills.
• Strong facility with technology - UNIX based systems, FIX Protocol, FIX engines, business logic/rules applications, query languages
• Experience with documenting requirements, and business and technical workflows.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Ability to work directly with clients and vendors in a consultative role
• Sense of urgency and ability to resolve and/or manage around inevitable technical hurdles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work with people across a large organization comprised of multiple business lines
• A solid understanding of brokerage / sell-side business within a competitive environment
• Strong knowledge of distributed technologies at multiple levels (application, middleware, business layer, database)
• Detailed knowledge of custody operations, including, DVP/RVP flows
• Solid understanding of comparison, clearance and settlement for equities
• Series 7 and 63 are a plus and will be required within 6 months of employment
