Job description

About Turn/River
Turn/River Capital is a private equity firm that applies a proprietary growth engineering strategy to investing, partnering with software businesses to accelerate growth and build enduring value. The firm's team of equal parts investors and operators provides hands-on operational support and the flexible capital to systematically scale marketing, sales and customer success at its portfolio companies. Founded in 2012 and based in San Francisco, Turn/River has $5.6bn in committed capital and invests globally with a focus on North America and Europe.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Data Analytics to join our Operations team. In this role, you will work directly with Turn/River Operations leaders and executives across a portfolio of B2B SaaS companies to solve high-impact growth challenges through data.
Rather than supporting a single company, you'll work across multiple portfolio businesses, independently owning high-impact initiatives from end to end-framing ambiguous questions, identifying the right data and metrics, validating assumptions, performing rigorous analysis, and delivering clear, actionable recommendations that influence executive decision-making.
This is a highly collaborative role that combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen. You'll collaborate across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Product, Investment, and Data & Analytics teams to translate data into strategic insights, uncover growth opportunities, and help leaders make better, faster decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Partner with Turn/River Operations leaders and portfolio company executives to identify growth opportunities and solve high-impact business problems through data.
  • Analyze marketing, sales, customer success, and product usage data to identify trends, forecast sales, predict customer churn, uncover expansion opportunities, and optimize GTM performance.
  • Lead high-impact business initiatives across the portfolio, partnering with executives to navigate ambiguity, prioritize the right opportunities, and deliver data-driven recommendations that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Validate the underlying data, metric definitions, and assumptions before making recommendations. Recognize when the available data isn't sufficiently reliable to support a decision, and partner with broader Data & Analytics teams to resolve gaps or inconsistencies.
  • Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations that influence executive decision-making and business strategy.
  • Balance speed with analytical rigor, knowing when additional analysis is needed and when there's enough evidence to confidently move forward.
  • Develop analytical frameworks, predictive models, and scalable reporting that help portfolio companies better understand business performance and make faster, data-driven decisions
  • Build and maintain dashboards that surface key business metrics, proactively identify risks, and highlight opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on ad hoc analyses to answer ambiguous business questions and support strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct portfolio-level analyses to identify trends and best practices that can be leveraged across Turn/River's portfolio.
  • Partner with the Investment team to support commercial due diligence for prospective investments and acquisitions through data-driven analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of analytical frameworks, reusable methodologies, and intellectual property that strengthen Turn/River's operating advantage.
  • Use AI-native tools and workflows to accelerate analysis, automate repeatable work, and improve the speed and quality of decision-making.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement AI-enabled solutions that improve operational efficiency and create scalable capabilities across the firm and portfolio companies.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a Data Scientist, Product Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Revenue Analytics, or another highly analytical role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • 2+ years of experience building and maintaining Tableau dashboards (or similar BI tools).
  • Experience with ETL/data transformation tools.
  • Experience partnering with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, RevOps, or other GTM organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analytical findings to executive and non-technical audiences and translate them into actionable business recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own ambiguous business problems from question framing through recommendation.
  • Strong project management, organizational, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Very data-driven, intellectually curious, and comfortable solving ambiguous business problems.
  • Experience with Google Cloud products preferred.
  • B.A./B.S. in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or Business Analytics.
Location
  • San Francisco, hybrid work model.
Compensation
  • The annual base salary range for this role is $227,500 - $237,500, plus an annual performance bonus, taking into account numerous variable factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational requirements.

Benefits and Perks
The below benefits are offered to full-time employees based out of our San Francisco office:
  • An opportunity to make an impact across multiple high-growth tech firms
  • Competitive salary and discretionary bonus
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance covered 100% for employee & dependents
  • Flexible vacation policy
  • 401K matching
  • Paid parental leave
  • Commuter benefits
  • Health and Wellness benefits
  • Household Services benefits
  • Home Office benefits
  • Annual Home Office Equipment Reimbursement
  • Donation matching
  • Work from home Monday & Friday
  • Energetic work environment with snacks and weekly team lunches 3x per week, centrally located near multiple public transit lines
  • A company that enjoys having fun: holiday parties, annual company offsite and retreat, annual summer "work from anywhere" month
