What is fitness operations?

Fitness operations refer to the management and coordination of activities, staff, and resources within a fitness facility or organization. This includes overseeing daily gym functions, maintaining equipment, ensuring member satisfaction, coordinating fitness programs, and managing staff schedules. Fitness operations professionals work to create a safe, clean, and motivating environment for members while optimizing the facility’s efficiency and profitability. Their responsibilities may also involve budgeting, marketing, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

To thrive in Fitness Operations, you need expertise in facility management, knowledge of fitness programming, and often a background in exercise science or business administration.
