Job description

The Life Sciences Division of Trinity Consultants, Inc. (Trinity) is a unique global resource for high level safety, health, and environmental support to the pharmaceutical, chemical, and biotechnology industries. Trinity currently has an opening for an Associate Industrial Hygienist (IH) assisting our Industrial Hygiene/Consulting operations with a site-based role in Virginia.


Job Summary

You will fill a key position in our growing IH Business Unit via an onsite role at a large pharma client’s VA location focused on IH assessments including:

  • Quantitative assessments for the following hazards:
  • Chemical
  • Nosie
  • Heat and Cold Stress
  • Illumination
  • Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM)
  • Asbestos and Lead Assessments and Program Management
  • Qualitative Exposure Assessments
  • Ventilation Surveys
  • PPE Hazard Assessments
  • Respirator Fit Testing, and
  • Hearing Protection Fit Testing


You will work closely with the client’s site and corporate EHS team and collaborate with a Trinity team of recognized experts in IH, safety, toxicology, risk assessment, and analytical chemistry.

A successful candidate will have established experience following scientific methodology for risk analysis and hygiene evaluations. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a positive attitude and who values accuracy, efficiency, and reliability. We are looking for an organized collaborator with a passion for customer service, developing and maintaining positive client relationships, and protecting workers’ health.


As a site-based position, the candidate will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of professionals including engineers, chemists, researchers, facilities and front-line operators at the site; and to serve alongside several experienced EHS professionals.

Requirements

  • US Citizen or authorized to work in the USA
  • Site based full-time position (40 hr/wk)
  • Location: Virginia (Shenandoah Valley / Blue Ridge region)
  • BS/BA in Science, Engineering or related field (MS/MA preferred)
  • 3 - 7 years of professional experience providing IH services in an industrial environment.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, chemical, or biotechnology industries is an advantage.
  • Candidates working toward Professional Board Certification in Industrial Hygiene (CIH) and/or Certification in Safety (CSP) preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office/365 Suite
  • Superior written and oral communication skills along with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with time management and organizational skills
  • Good judgment and discretion when working with confidential information
