Job description

The Golf Starter serves as a premier ambassador of the Club and plays an essential role in delivering a world-class golf experience. As one of the first to greet members and guests, the Starter establishes the tone for the day through exceptional hospitality, personalized service, and meticulous attention to detail. This position is responsible for coordinating the flow of play at the First Tee, communicating daily course information, and ensuring member and guest expectations are exceeded.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet every member and guest by name whenever possible with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.

• Create a welcoming, memorable first-tee experience that reflects the Club’s commitment to excellence.

• Anticipate member preferences and proactively address needs before they arise.

• Coordinate the efficient and timely movement of groups from the practice facilities to the First Tee.

• Work closely with the Golf Shop, Outside Services, Caddie Program, and Golf Professional Staff to ensure seamless operations.

• Monitor tee sheet activity and reconcile with the Golf Shop to ensure accurate billing for the day.

• Be willing and available to assume new responsibilities as developed.

CERTIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

1. Valid Driver’s License.

2. Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Working conditions are performed in both interior and exterior surroundings. Physical strength demands may require lifting, carrying, pulling or pushing objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and around moving mechanical parts. Occasionally works in extreme cold or heat (non-weather). May occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles. or toxic/caustic chemicals. Frequently works outdoors in various weather conditions with moderate noise level.
