Job description

Description:

The Sandblast Technician 1 is responsible for internal parts flow through the blast department, proper sandblast procedures, and preparation for paint. The Sandblast Technician 1 also supports continuous process improvement and lean initiatives by following process flow, remaining flexible to complete tasks as part of the team, maintaining a clean work environment, and offering suggestions for improvements.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. All duties to be performed according to the established standard and in compliance with all company policies and procedures while maintaining regular, prompt attendance and availability to work outside of the standard shift hours as needed:

  • Prepare machines and components for sandblast including taping, plugging holes, and sandblasting to ensure 2-3 mill finish
  • Load and move materials to the proper work area
  • Seam seal parts after blast if required
  • Clean all excess grit of parts before advancing them in the production process
  • Develop maintenance and troubleshooting skills. Keep work area neat and clean

Hours for this position are Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm and Friday 6:00am - 11:00am


Experience and Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred

Experience

  • Six months to one year of sandblast experience, preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing environment with mechanical knowledge, preferred

In accordance with pay transparency regulations, the anticipated starting hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.00 - $23.00 Please note that the hourly range provided is an estimate and not a guarantee; the final offer will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, location, and assigned shift. Full-time employees may also be eligible for variable compensation, company-wide incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package. Additionally, the availability of benefits and programs may vary depending on the hire date, employment type, and hours worked.
