The Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean swimming environment for all pool users. This role involves monitoring pool activities, enforcing safety rules, and helping guests (students and faculty).

Description
Hours: 2-6 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Supervision:

  • Monitor pool activities to ensure the safety of all swimmers.
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations, including proper conduct
  • Respond to emergencies, administer first aid, and perform rescue operations if necessary.
Customer Service:
  • Greet and assist pool guests with a friendly and professional attitude.
  • Provide information on pool rules, hours of operation, and special events.
  • Address and resolve any concerns or complaints from guests.
Maintenance and Cleanliness:
  • Ensure the pool area, including decks and surrounding spaces, is clean and well-maintained.
  • Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate personnel.
Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate records of pool usage, incidents, and safety checks.
  • Complete incident reports as needed and follow up on any required actions.
Special Events:
  • Help support any special events such as a recreation league, class or pool activity
Emergency Preparedness:
  • Be prepared to handle various emergency situations, including medical emergencies and natural disasters.
Qualifications:
  • Certification: Current certification in CPR, first aid, and lifeguarding
  • Skills: Strong swimming ability, good observational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with people of all ages.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physical tasks related to lifeguarding duties, including swimming and rescue operations.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a lifeguard and/or swim instructor in a similar role is preferred but not required.
Additional Notes:
  • The Lifeguard must adhere to all safety protocols and policies set by the client
  • Ongoing training and certification renewal may be required to stay updated with industry standards and practices.
