Job Summary

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

โ€ขMentor and train junior biomedical equipment technicians with in-service educational training on proper use and maintenance of equipment
โ€ขImplement KPI improvement strategies
โ€ขMaintain compliance on company ISO:13485 certification standards/QMP policies and requirements
โ€ขManage planned maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices and systems, and monitor completion of planned maintenance activities performed by outside vendors
โ€ขAnalyze, repair, and test electronic and electromechanical equipment
โ€ขRepresent the company on various hospital committees to ensure safe and effective equipment operation to the contract specifications
โ€ขProvide input on client capital replacement strategies for medical equipment and the maintenance requirements
โ€ขRespond expeditiously to calls from clinical departments, and customers to evaluate and rectify valid operator complaints and concerns
โ€ขDisplay effective client service in accordance with client satisfaction survey protocol
โ€ขMaintain an orderly and functional working environment, ensuring tools and test equipment are calibrated and functional before use
โ€ขFollow 5S methodology
โ€ขProvide leadership and managerial oversight to direct reports, as assigned, maintaining optimum productivity, quality, and efficiency.
โ€ขParticipate in the hiring process to meet staffing objectives
โ€ขSupervise and instruct personnel in the safe use, application, testing, planned maintenance and repair of all types of clinical equipment technologies and systems
โ€ขMentor and train junior biomedical equipment technicians with in-service educational training on proper use and maintenance of equipment
โ€ขResponsible for engagement survey action plan
โ€ขResponsible for productivity and staffing that is appropriate to the account(s)
โ€ขManage disciplinary issues and other employee relations concerns with guidance from Human Resources
โ€ขComplete annual employee performance evaluations, competency assessments, training plans, and merit increases on a timely basis.
โ€ขResponsible for preparation and implementation of specific development and training specific plans for region and key high potential management personnel
โ€ขEstablish and administer on-call schedule; assume on-call responsibilities as necessary
โ€ขPrepare, present, and explain the equipment database (CMMS) reports
โ€ขMaintain accurate inventory and documentation on all equipment, inspections and equipment repairs and failures
โ€ขManage the equipment database (CMMS) and be able to generate fail code, corrective and planned maintenance completion reports.
โ€ขReview outcome of planned maintenance actions and make recommendations to department staff concerning improvements
โ€ขResearch and initiate orders for repair parts, working within established budget parameters. Generate purchase orders and effectively find second-source parts
โ€ขProvide accurate and timely database management of CMMS in accordance with QMS policies and procedures
โ€ขMaintain accurate records of repairs, calibration, and tests
โ€ขPerform other duties as assigned that are intrinsic to the successful operation of the business
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
โ€ขBachelorโ€™s Degree in biomedical equipment technology or electronic equipment or equivalent
โ€ขCABT, A+, etc, Certifications preferred
โ€ขMilitary training preferred
โ€ขCBET preferred

Experience:
โ€ขMinimum of seven years servicing a broad representation of clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment
โ€ขMinimum of three years of on-site supervision of hospital technicians preferred
โ€ขIn-depth knowledge of electronic circuitry and technical aspects of the operation, repair, and planned maintenance of electronic and electromechanical equipment
