Summary Electrical Engineer needed to design and develop new products and modify and improve existing products with our Healthcare Solutions team by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: other duties may be assigned

  • Develop and design new products and modify and improve existing products within budgetary constraints and customer requirements, and with consideration of a life cycle perspective for the product
  • Select materials and, in conjunction with Manufacturing, select methods to be used in the assembly.
  • Requisition parts, supplies, services and tooling as needed.
  • Analyze CCAs for root cause and develop corrective action response.
  • Complete CCA corrective action and submit to Leader for approval .
  • Provide technical assistance to Sales Department for quotations.
  • Provide complete working drawings when project is released from Engineering to Production.
  • Test and evaluate designs and provide product specifications or test data as required.
  • Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
  • Provide Sales Department with special design/price requests (SD/PRs).
  • Recommend new products and/or modifications and improvements to existing products.
  • Interface with customers as necessary to clarify design objectives on projects and communicate updates to Sales Department.
  • Recommend suppliers and/or other outside sources for technical information as needed to meet design objectives and communicate information to Purchasing Department.
  • Accept or reject parts, assemblies and/or tooling.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Adhere to Grayhill release to production protocols
  • Coach and mentor associates assigned to projects
  • Travel expected (10%) with some international

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of two years related experience and/or training
  • Experience in the design or designing robust immunity and low EMI per FCC, CE
  • Experience with design and documentation requirements for medical products
  • Root Cause analysis using 8D methodology

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with embedded microcontroller and microprocessor design.
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and develop detailed design documents
  • Strong understanding of EMI and EMC mitigation
  • Development of LCD interfaces
  • Proficiency with C/C++
  • Experience with designing for MIL-STD-3009 lighting requirements
  • Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
  • Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)
