Job description

PAY RATE: $75.00 per hour
The Park City Police Department is seeking experienced law enforcement professionals to join our team in a part-time to support special events. A current memorandum of understanding with Park City is mandatory.
JOB SUMMARY
Under supervision of the Special Events Lieutenant and general supervision of the Special Operations Bureau Captain, a special event officer will assist Park City Police Department with special events within Park City.
TYPICAL DUTIES
  • Primary Duties:
    • Perform traffic control and pedestrian management during Park City Special Events
    • Make decisions related to Park City and State of Utah laws to ensure consistent law enforcement and safety of Park City community and guests
  • If necessary:
    • respond to major emergencies
    • Performs emergency first aid and life-saving measures for suspects, citizens, and first responders

MINIMUM QUALIFICATICATONS
  • Current full-time law enforcement officer with a law enforcement agency in the State of Utah
  • Outside law enforcement agency must have current MOU with PCMC/PCPD
  • Utah P.O.S.T. category I certification.
  • Possess a valid Utah State Driver's License.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • The employee is occasionally required to use hands to manipulate objects, controls, or tools.
  • May be required to use physical force in course of assigned duties.
  • Potential hazard of physical attack or injury including the threat of edged weapons and firearms.
  • Work is performed primarily in office, vehicles, and outdoor settings with exposure to all weather conditions including extreme temperatures
  • Potential exposure to fire, chemical, electrical, and mechanical hazards
  • Potential exposure to bodily fluids, unknown and illicit substances
  • Frequent exposure to fast moving vehicles and motor vehicle accidents
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
