Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Mortgage Lender II to be based out of our Overland Park location. This role will supportย customers through the mortgage lending process while building strong referral and community relationships.
Job Summary:
The Mortgage Loan Officer II is responsible for independently managing the mortgage loan process from origination through closing. This role builds strong relationships with clients, referral sources, and internal partners to generate loan volume while ensuring compliance with regulatory and bank policies. The position requires a solid understanding of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and customer service best practices Ensures that sound banking practices are followed and that all regulations governing lending functions are strictly observed.ย  ย Expected to deliver customer service as outlined in our "customer pledge" and "customer service standards".
Key Responsibilities
Loan Origination & Client Management
Originate residential mortgage loans by identifying client needs and recommending appropriate loan products.
Guide clients through the full loan process, from application to closing.ย 
Conduct financial assessments, pre-qualifications, and credit analysis.ย 
Prepare and submit complete and accurate loan files for underwriting.ย 
Maintain strong relationships with clients, relators, builders, and other referral sources.ย 
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure all loan documentation complies with regulatory requirements and internal policies.ย 
Maintain accurate records in CRM and loan origination systems.ย 
Monitor loan pipeline and follow up on outstanding items to ensure timely closings.ย 
Business Development & Community Engagement
Actively participate in community events and outreach to build referral networks.ย 
Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective borrowers through networking and marketing efforts.ย 
Cross-sell other bank products and services as appropriate.ย 
Training & Mentorship
Serve as a resource and mentor to Mortgage Loan Officer I team members.ย 
Stay current on mortgage lending trends, products, and regulatory changes.ย 
Other Duties
Perform other duties as assigned.ย 
Qualifications
Required:
Associate's degree or equivalent experience in finance, business, or a related field
2+ years of experience in mortgage lending or financial services
NMLS registration (active and in good standing)
Strong knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and loan documentation
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and loan origination systems (e.g., ENCOMPASS)
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field
Experience in community banking or local lending market
WORK DAYS/HOURS (In Person)
Monday-Friday
8:00am to 5:00 pmย 
Some Saturday's Required
