Job description

About us

The world is electrifying. As we plug in more devices and services, we need new ways to connect to power.

The traditional, one-size-fits-all utility approach — with complicated bills and frustrating customer service — no longer works. At Light, we make it easy to get affordable, renewable electricity by embedding power with the products that consumers already use, from the companies they love.

Light’s mission is to power a sustainable and abundant energy future for everyone. With Light's utility-as-API platform, companies from automakers and solar providers to real estate and beyond can offer their own, integrated electricity plans.

Imagine purchasing an electric vehicle that includes unlimited home charging, or solar panels that come bundled with any excess energy you might need from the grid. At Light, we're creating a flexible future where any company can offer their own branded electricity plans and make clean energy convenient for their customers.

Join us in building the digital energy infrastructure for a dynamic, sustainable future.

The role

You'll work directly alongside the founders and leadership team to help shape how Light grows.

Your mission is to identify, develop, and activate the strategic relationships that accelerate adoption across the solar, storage, and broader home electrification ecosystem.

You'll work across channel strategy, business development, partnerships, and industry engagement—building relationships with influential industry participants, developing new commercial models, and creating repeatable growth engines that drive partner acquisition and growth.

This is an opportunity to help shape an industry, not just participate in one.

In your first six months, you will:
  • Develop and execute channel strategies across solar/storage and electrification ecosystem.

  • Build strategic relationships with industry participants that can accelerate adoption, improve customer economics, and create new partner acquisition opportunities.

  • Develop partnerships with technology platforms, software providers, and integration partners that embed Light into the workflows used by electrification companies.

  • Create programs that increase awareness, adoption, and attach rates across sales organizations, installers, and channel partners.

  • Develop and refine commercial frameworks for partnerships, sponsorships, referrals, integrations, and other channel models that create measurable business impact.

  • Represent Light at conferences, industry events, webinars, and partner meetings, helping establish the company as a trusted participant within the industry.

You would describe yourself as:
  • Entrepreneurial and self-directed. You thrive in ambiguity and enjoy building things from scratch.

  • Strategic and discerning. You know how to identify leverage and focus on what matters most.

  • Commercially minded. You understand how partnerships create value and drive outcomes.

  • Knowledgeable about the solar, storage, home electrification, or broader energy ecosystem.

  • Experienced, with 10–15+ years in business development, partnerships, channels, sales, or related roles. Equally comfortable developing strategy and executing it.

  • A strong relationship builder who can command credibility across the industry.
