Job description

The Laundry Aide is responsible for sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens, clothing, and other washable items in accordance with facility policies and infection control standards. This position helps ensure an adequate supply of clean linens and garments while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient laundry operation.ย

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collect, sort, and process soiled linens, resident clothing, and other laundry items.
  • Operate commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and folding machines, safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, damage, and needed repairs.
  • Fold, organize, label, and distribute clean linens and clothing to designated areas.
  • Maintain laundry records and inventory as required.
  • Follow established infection prevention, safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • Properly handle and store laundry chemicals and supplies.
  • Keep laundry areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Assist with stocking linen closets and maintaining adequate inventory levels.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to residents, families, staff, and visitors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous laundry, housekeeping, or healthcare experience preferred but not required.
