Job description

We're currently seeking team members who are passionate about building lasting vacation memories for owners/guests visiting our resort properties! You are service orientated, thoughtful, courteous, excellent with both children and adults in providing a refreshing environment.

What will I be doing?

As a Recreation /Sailing program coordinator will be responsible to Plan, coordinate and implement recreation and leisure activities for all owners, members and guests for the enhancement of their vacation experience.

  • Coordinates recreational programs and activities on a day-to-day basis for all age groups according to needs and interests of owners/members/guests, resort requirements and seasonal opportunities. 
  • Monitors and evaluates recreation program content and prepares communication material (flyers, handouts, postings, etc.) to attract participants and promote program interest.
  • Evaluates programs/activities for effectiveness and participation seeking new and exciting ideas for enhancement of the programs. 
  • Always provides outstanding owner/member/guest service including answering inquiries, providing information and general problem solving.  Commitment and dedication to our Spirit of Service culture is always an expected behavior to be displayed in all interactions. 
  • Must be able to work outdoors for long hours in hot temperatures. 
  • Coordinates daily activity with guests, including tournaments for pickleball and tennis. 
  • Maintains recreation inventory and orders activity supplies within budgetary constraints.
  • Must be a strong swimmer and have knowledge or background in operating personal watercraft.
  • Assists and provides support to other departments when requested.
  • Rent and sign out recreation equipment to guests. Assist in recreation programs as required.
  • Assist in our comprehensive sailing program. Knowledge of Hobie Fleet of Sailboats preferred.
  • Assist with maintenance of sailing and bicycle fleet, as well as fitness center and equipment.
  • May include, monitoring pool activities, towel inventory control, and all other activity common areas.
  • Implement all safety rules and regulations.
  • May require cash handling duties.
  • Must be able to work on holidays and weekends. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs with reasonable accommodation.
  • Basic math and cash handling skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and basic desktop publishing applications.

  • Athletic skills to get along with participate in our tennis and pickleball games.
  • Excellent guest relations skills.
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of recreation activities and programs including their development and implementation.
  • Able to interact with all age groups courteously and effectively 
  • Able to speak, read, write, and understand English language to complete job requirements and to communicate with co-workers and guests/owners.
  • Comfortable working on the water aboard wave runners, kayaks, paddleboard, and sailboats.
  • US Sailing Level 1 (Preferred)
  • Small Boat Instructor Certification (Preferred)

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Previous customer service experience
