The department of Student Life at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a (Hybrid) Program Coordinator, Student Involvement.
About the Opportunity:
The Program Coordinator works to plan, administer and implement programs and activities for Student Involvement initiatives. Under the direction of the Associate Director for Student Involvement and Leadership, this position will work to connect students to potential meaningful campus involvement and engagement opportunities at West Virginia University.

What You'll Do:
Program Planning:
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of student organization centered initiatives such as organization fairs, leadership training, SOLD Retreat, and Pop-In events.
  • Manage the Annual Student Organization Registration process including communications, data tracking, organization compliance, and status changes.
  • Co-coordinates and implements campus-wide events such as Toy Mountain and the Student LOT (Alcohol-Free student tailgate).
  • Create and manage all student involvement events in WVU Engage and the WVU calendar. This may include flyer creation, event postings and updates, attendance, and RSVP tracking, etc.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Student Organization Resource Center.
  • Maintain student organization resource portal on WVU Engage to ensure all policy documents, resource guides, handbooks, etc. are up-to-date and accessible to student leaders.
  • Assist with all student involvement event communication and audience segmentation to ensure events are non-duplicative and fulfill Student Life needs.
  • Monitor and manage the Center for Student Involvement vanity email account responding within 48 hours along with social medical (Instagram & X).
  • Update student involvement website content for accuracy and to meet accessibility standards. Represent the Center for Student Involvement on university committees as directed by the Associate Director
  • Execute other projects and assignments at the request of the leadership team within Student Engagement & Leadership
  • Design, develop and manage content for a weekly newsletter
  • Other duties as assigned by the director

Relationship and Network Building:
  • Support the Associate Director of Student Involvement & Leadership with the coordination and training of student workers
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with camps units to coordinate a community-wide approach to support the needs of WVU's student population.

Assessment:
  • Track and maintain attendance data from all events to be used for the Center for Student Involvement assessments.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Required. Master's Degree Preferred
  • A minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to student leadership and student development
  • Must exhibit a positive attitude and demonstrate the ability to work well with others
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Physical capability to transport materials weighing an average of 25-40 pounds
