Roosevelt City is a thriving Uintah Basin community where employees take pride in improving residents' quality of life. As a Greens 1st Assistant, you'll join the Golf Course Maintenance team and work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to keep the course beautiful, healthy, and ready for play. The Greens 1st Assistant is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, teamwork, leadership, and seeing the results of a job well done. You'll also have opportunities to develop your skills while contributing to a course enjoyed by residents and visitors year-round.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?

As a Greens 1st Assistant, no two days are exactly alike. Irrigation is Priority #1, so the Greens 1st Assistant will help operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair the irrigation system. You'll conduct morning assignments, supervise and mentor crew members, monitor course conditions, and help plan daily and weekly maintenance.

The Greens 1st Assistant will also apply fertilizers and pesticides, maintain compliance records, calibrate sprayers, and operate mowers, tractors, utility carts, spreaders, and other equipment. You'll support agronomic planning and work with the Superintendent to ensure greens, tees, fairways, and other playing areas meet the standards expected of a premier golf facility.

Your Schedule

The Greens 1st Assistant works a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays, sharing coverage with the Superintendent and crew.

What You'll Bring

A successful Greens 1st Assistant understands turfgrass maintenance, irrigation, and the equipment used in golf course operations. A turf degree is recommended but not required, and 1โ€“2 years of golf course maintenance experience is preferred. Experience operating and repairing irrigation systems is strongly preferred.

The Greens 1st Assistant must have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a pesticide applicator license. We're looking for someone dependable and safety-minded who communicates well, can lead and train others, and is comfortable performing physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
