Facility Information
We are an extension of HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. We opened in 2002 to meet the healthcare needs of the growing population of West Marion County. Our 222-bed hospital features all private rooms and offers a full-service emergency room, as well as Marion County's only inpatient Orthopedic Joint Care Center.
Our medical services include surgical procedures, radiological services, urologic treatments, inpatient wound care for chronic wounds, oncology care and various outpatient services.
Surgical procedures we perform/Our surgical specialties include procedures in the following areas:
Bariatric surgery/Our surgeons perform bariatric surgery to resolve obesity and obesity-related health conditions so you can lose excess weight and lead your healthiest life. Some of these bariatric procedures include:
  • Adjustable gastric banding surgery
  • Endoscopic intragastric balloon
  • Gastric bypass surgery
  • Sleeve gastrectomy

Cardiovascular surgery/Our cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons perform a range of heart and vascular surgeries to treat conditions and diseases of the heart, blood vessels and lungs.
After cardiovascular surgery, cardiac rehabilitation will likely be recommended. We have inpatient cardiac rehabilitation as well as an off-site outpatient cardiac rehabilitation maintenance center.
General surgery/Our general surgeons perform both traditional and minimally invasive surgical procedures to treat conditions ranging from appendicitis to stomach problems.
Colorectal surgery/We offer surgical treatments, including minimally invasive surgery, for various colon and rectal diseases. This can include colorectal cancer, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.
Esophagectomy/The esophagus is the tube that moves food from your throat to your stomach. During an esophagectomy, part or all of the esophagus is removed and then rebuilt using part of the stomach or large intestine.
An esophagectomy may be used to treat:
  • Achalasia - a condition in which the ring of muscle of the esophagus does not work well, causing swallowing difficulties
  • Barrett's esophagus - a condition in which the lining of the esophagus is severely damaged, which is a risk factor for cancer
  • Cancer of the esophagus
  • Severe trauma of the esophagus - any type of intense, often life-threatening, damage or injury to the esophagus

Gallbladder removal/Cholecystectomy is a common, low-risk surgical procedure to remove the gallbladder.
The two main approaches to cholecystectomy are laparoscopic surgery and open surgery. A laparoscopic cholecystectomy, the most common approach, uses small incisions, a tiny video camera and special surgical tools.
Hernia repair/A hernia occurs when fatty tissue or an organ pushes through a weak place in the surrounding connective tissue or muscle wall.
A surgical hernia repair involves pushing the hernia back to its proper area and keeping it there. Hernias usually don't get better on their own. They tend to get bigger. In rare cases, they can lead to life-threatening complications. Depending on the size and symptoms, not every hernia needs immediate treatment.
Gynecologic surgery/Our gynecologic surgeons offer surgical procedures to treat conditions affecting the female reproductive system and pelvic area. Our gynecologic surgical procedures include hysterectomies, myomectomies and Sacrocolpopexies.
Neurological and spine surgery/Our neurosurgeons perform the most advanced brain and spine surgical procedures to treat any neurological or spine conditions, including aneurysms, brain tumors or stroke.
Orthopedic surgery/To treat joint pain or orthopedic injuries, our orthopedic surgeons perform a variety of orthopedic surgical procedures. These procedures include partial and total hip, knee and shoulder replacements.
