Job Title: Flatbed Truck Driver

Company: Baird and Wilson Sheetmetal, Inc.

Location: Knoxville, TN

Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

As a Flatbed Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of our sheet metal products. You will be responsible for operating a flatbed truck and transporting materials to various destinations while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

· Must tie their loads down to their trucks. This must be done properly to ensure safe transportation.

· Plan driving routes using maps or GPS tracking.

· Reach destination by the predetermined time.

· Get material to client on time.

· Monitor road conditions and what for traffic congestion.

· Follow all traffic laws.

· Always keep vehicle maintenance up. (Fuel, Cleanliness inside and outside)

· Report to supervisor of any incidents encountered on the road.

· Inspect trailer before and after all trips, and record any defects found.

· Follow accident procedures.

· Report all mechanical problems to appropriate personnel.

· Keep associated equipment clean and in working order.

Qualifications:

  • Clean driving record with no major violations.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of flatbed truck driving experience.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy sheet metal materials.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to operate a Forklift.
  • Ability to pull bumper trailer and gooseneck trailer.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
  • Physical stamina for extended driving hours.
