Job description

Job Description Future Education is recruiting for a SEN school in the South Croydon area who are looking for an Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant. In this role, as a SEN Teaching Assistant you will support students with special educational needs, helping them to engage in their learning and achieve their full potential. Your responsibilities will include assisting with lessons, managing behaviour, providing personal care, and collaborating with teachers and parents to support student progress.

Working days - Monday to Friday Hours - 8:30 to 3:30 pm Pay (Day rate) - 83.33 PAYE Start Date - ASAP SEN Teaching Assistant Job Duties Assist students with special needs in their lessons and activities. Help with maintaining focus and appropriate behaviour using strategies and positive reinforcement. Assist with personal needs like feeding, toileting, and mobility if required

Help prepare materials and support students with their assignments. Observe and record students' progress and behaviour. Share updates with teachers, parents, and other professionals about student progress.

Ensure students' safety and follow health and safety procedures. SEN Teaching Assistant Job Requirements Basic literacy and numeracy skills (e.g., GCSEs in English and Maths). Essential Specialized training or qualifications in Special Education Needs (SEN) or related fields

Desirable First Aid certification. Desirable Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or SEN setting or similar. Essential.

Experience in supporting students with various special educational needs. Desirable Experience with specific needs such as autism or ASD Complex needs, or MLD, or PLMD Desirable Strong understanding of SEN and effective strategies for supporting diverse learning needs.
