Job Title: Human Resource Associate Compliance.

Duration: 06+ months with possible extension

Location: North Chicago, IL 60064 (Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite)


Description

  • As the Talent Acquisition Associate Specialist; Compliance, you will focus primarily on supporting the precheck workflow and for specialized recruitment needs.
  • In this role, you will report to the TA Compliance Manager and partner closely with Compliance Leads, Recruiters, Legal, and other internal stakeholders to ensure precheck processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.
  • This position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the precheck process focusing primarily on background check process for a high volume of requisitions across business functions using company’s applicant tracking system and background check vendor workflow
  • Serve as a point of contact for background check questions, updates, and issue resolution from recruiters, candidates, and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor background check status, follow up on outstanding items, and ensure timely completion to support hiring decisions
  • Review background check results and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance requirements
  • Validate candidate-provided and vendor-provided documentation to ensure it meets internal and external standards
  • Identify, document, and escalate background check exceptions, discrepancies, or concerns as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records, process documentation, and reporting metrics related to background check activity
  • Maintain a positive candidate experience through clear communication, professionalism, and timely follow-up
  • Support updates to training materials and standard work related to background checks and compliance processes
  • Assist with hire eligibility review and other compliance-related administrative tasks as assigned
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws, company’s policies, and applicant tracking requirements


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a professional recruiting, HR operations, or compliance environment
  • Experience working with First Advantage or another background check vendor preferred
  • Experience validating and reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance preferred
  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced role requiring multitasking and strong organization
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems; SmartRecruiters preferred
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
  • Ability to use sound judgment, discretion, and critical thinking in handling sensitive information
