What You Will Do:

Under the general direction of the Vice President of Operations & CAO plans, organizes, directs, controls and evaluates the provision of pharmacy services to Firelands Health patients, employees, and medical staff. Ensures compliancy with the Food and Drug Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy, and as well to meet the standards of the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC). Monitors and controls revenue and expense budgets, allocates and manages the human resources of the department, and is responsible for implementation of Firelands Health policies, as well as development of departmental policies and procedures. Provides for a safe and effective drug distribution system, a cost-effective pharmaceutical purchasing program, and for comprehensive dissemination of drug information to patients and staff. Supports the mission and philosophy of Firelands Health.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school; M.S./M.B.A., preferred.
  • Required to be licensed by the State of Ohio and have at least 3 years of managerial experience in a progressive medical center pharmacy environment.
  • Ability to read and write small letters and numbers and perform complex arithmetic and financial applications.
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate in both written and oral form.
  • Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required.
  • Required to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of emergency codes.
  • Required to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and to utilize proper personal protective equipment. Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.
  • Required to achieve all departmental goals and competencies while actively contributing to the departmentโ€™s ongoing strategic initiatives.
