As Range Lead 1, you will be responsible for the functions outlined below, building on Armorer 1 firearms assembly and inspection expertise to conduct detailed range operations, test fire each firearm, and serve as a Range Safety Officer guaranteeing operational excellence and safety.

Essential Functions
  • Apply Armorer 1-level firearms assembly and inspection expertise to conduct thorough inspections of upper and lower receivers for any manufacturing or cosmetic defects; ensure all firearms meet Daniel Defense’s rigorous standards for fit and function.
  • Responsible for all range operations and maintenance, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
  • Conduct daily firing range operations, ensuring a secure and orderly environment; serve as a Range Safety Officer, enforcing all safety protocols.
  • Perform test firing of all firearms to verify operational reliability and safety before they are deemed ready for distribution.
  • Ensure quality and regulatory compliance in the packaging of finished firearms and accessories, adhering to ATF regulations and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Adhere to all Daniel Defense standards, operating within the framework of operator work instructions, SOPs, and quality safety procedures.
  • Provide adequate support and informal training to team members to promote continuous improvement in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity.
  • Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the company’s efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
  • Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environment.
  • Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); demonstrated competency at the Armorer 1 level required. 3+ years of firearms experience including Armorer 1-level assembly and inspection proficiency; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must successfully complete the NRA Range Safety Officer course and any other required Daniel Defense certification courses.
  • Moderate to proficient knowledge in firearms, with the ability to recognize and rectify defects.
  • Must have a level of manual dexterity to perform all job functions.
  • Ability to perform as part of a team and to cooperate and work proactively with others.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new range operations skills and requirements.
  • Great attention to detail and excellent recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work under deadlines and pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and work in accordance with our Company Values.
  • It is understood employees may be assigned to other departments, functional groups, and/or shifts as deemed necessary by management.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the work day.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
