Gun Customer Service associates are responsible for creating a welcoming environment by greeting customers, accurately processing transactions while following all ATF federal laws and guidelines. This role provides friendly, helpful service that ensures customers leave with a positive impression of Scheels.

Scheduling:
  • SCHEELS scheduling expectation is to be flexible to work their assigned schedule between 9:00am and 9:00pm Monday through Friday, 9:00am and 8:00pm on Saturday and 10:00am and 6:00pm on Sundays. Schedules may include varied hours, evenings, weekends and holidays based on store needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
  • Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
  • Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
  • Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
  • Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
  • End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer
  • Process returns and exchanges for firearm purchases
  • Complete firearm background checks
  • Assist with Gun Room housekeeping
  • Ensure all ATF federal laws and guidelines are followed

  • Ability to execute technology-based processes for firearm and/or suppressor transactions
  • All other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), and/or 1-3 months of cashiering experience
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
