Fire & Water Damage Mitigation Technician

Full-Time | Onsite | Columbia, SC

Rytech Restoration of the Midlands is seeking a dependable and motivated Fire & Water Damage Mitigation Technician to join our growing team. This role is critical in responding to fire, water, smoke, and mold losses and helping restore properties safely, efficiently, and with professionalism.


What You'll Do
  • Perform fire, smoke, and water damage mitigation services
  • Extract water, install and monitor drying equipment, and perform odor control
  • Conduct selective demolition and jobsite cleanup
  • Assist with mold remediation and structural stabilization
  • Use hand tools, power tools, PPE, and mitigation equipment safely
  • Work in residential and commercial environments
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with customers
  • Collaborate with team members to meet safety, quality, and service standards
  • Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

What We're Looking For
  • Experience in restoration, water mitigation, fire cleanup, demolition, construction, or skilled trades (preferred)
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, carrying, moving equipment)
  • Team-oriented mindset with professional communication skills
  • Interest in earning IICRC certifications (WRT, FSRT, AMRT โ€“ company supported)

Requirements
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Clean criminal background (no misdemeanors or felonies)
  • Comfort working in challenging conditions and emergency response environments
