Iron Fabrication Services (IFS) is a leading fabricator and supplier of all types of steel used in many major construction projects such as large scale commercial and residential buildings. The Fabricator must be self-driven and able to effectively communicate. Must demonstrate good analytical skills, possesses strong attention to detail, ability to read and understand schematics, diagrams, site plans, and maps.

Requirements:
  • Fabricate and repair rails, stairs, brackets, frames, pump installations, tanks, piping, panels, tools, shafts and related equipment.
  • Weld materials using arc, carbon arc, metallic inert gas, tungsten inert gas and oxygen-acetylene processes on a variety of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
  • Interpret drawings specifications and lays out work, marks dimensions, angles, cutouts on metal plates and pipe.
  • Shape, punch, drill and secure metal parts, cages, steel decks, trusses, machinery foundations, brackets and handguard rails.
  • Design, layout and fabricate a variety of steel materials.
  • Coordinate work activities with other members of the team.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the shop manager and team for support when needed.
  • Make suggestions to Shop Manager regarding different/better ways to manage and maintain equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Environmental awareness
  • Proven work experience as a Fire Watchman or similar role
  • Knowledge of fire and safety prevention methods where hot work is being carried out
  • Ability to work long hours depending on the needs of the job site
  • Relevant training and/or certifications as a Fire Watchman


Travel Requirements: None.


Physical Requirements: Be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath. Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out. Keep or regain the body's balance or stay upright when in an unstable position. See objects in very bright or glaring light.
