City charter authorizes the Department to mitigate all hazards, including fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), hazardous materials response, technical rescue, and crisis intervention. In support of those functions, the Fire Department staffs a fire prevention division, EMS and training divisions, mechanical maintenance facility, community preparedness office, and Department administration. We are looking for someone who will manage fire prevention, fire plan review and community education in order to protect the lives and properties of the residents of the City. Minimum qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science or Business Management; and 5 years of experience in fire prevention, inspection and investigation work including at least 3 years of supervisory experience; and ICC Fire Inspector Level I and II at time of hire or promotion; and must meet the qualifications to wear a tight fitting respirator by passing a medical evaluation test in accordance with CFR 1910.134 by hire date and must maintain Certification; and a valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available. The City of Chandler will conduct a driving record check and reference check as a condition of employment.
