We are a passionate and entrepreneurial team embracing bold ideas, fostering collaboration, and delivering great experiences for our customers. The Developer Experience team is at the heart of our tech-forward approach, delivering enterprise capabilities and a common platform that enables our engineering teams to thrive in the cloud.

This role is at the center of our strategy to empower developers by removing toil and embedding security seamlessly into the development lifecycle. By automating the detection and remediation of vulnerabilities at their source, this leader will directly address one of the largest operational burdens on our engineering community. This work is core to Capital One's mission to change banking for good!

As a Director on the Developer Experience Product team, you will be responsible for the strategy, vision, and execution of how we manage software artifacts and continuously refresh production environments with up-to-date software. This outcome is designed to fundamentally solve the challenge of artifact and vulnerability management across foundational software components like container base images and open-source libraries. You will lead the charge in transforming our artifact and vulnerability management posture from reactive fire-fighting to a proactive, automated, and sustainable state.

The ideal candidate is a passionate, technology-driven leader who deeply empathizes with the challenges developers face. They are comfortable in conversations with engineering teams, cybersecurity experts, and senior leaders, and possess a strong ability to translate complex technical problems into a clear, strategic product roadmap.

As the Director, Product Management - Secure Foundations Platform, you will:

  • Define and champion the product vision and multi-year strategy for automated container vulnerability remediation at Capital One.

  • Lead the product roadmap for the Continuous Automated Refresh (CAR) platform, transforming it from a program to a mature, scalable product.

  • Partner closely with senior leaders in Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Risk to ensure the platform meets the complex security and operational needs of a large enterprise.

  • Deeply understand the pain points of our internal software development teams and use those insights to build solutions that make the secure path the easy path.

  • Define, monitor, and evangelize key performance indicators, measuring the reduction of toil, decreased time-to-remediate, and the overall impact on developer productivity and satisfaction.

  • Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation and stakeholder engagement to delivery, launch, and continuous improvement.

  • Serve as the enterprise-wide subject matter expert on the product, effectively communicating its value proposition and progress to stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience leading product management for developer platforms, DevOps tools, or large-scale enterprise platforms.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, particularly in application security, vulnerability management, or software supply chain security.

  • Experience translating complex business strategy and technical challenges into a clear, data-driven product roadmap.
