We are currently seeking experienced Fire Alarm Systems Designers / Consultants to join our growing team. This position will play a key role in a high-priority project at a large semiconductor manufacturing site in North Phoenix, involving design consulting, technical reviews, and on-site oversight. The role demands strong technical skills, good judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and project stakeholders.

Position Summary

This role focuses on the design, evaluation, and consulting of fire alarm and mass notification systems for a variety of complex projects. The ideal candidate has substantial technical expertise, thorough knowledge of relevant codes and standards, and proven ability to lead technical work while working closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities Design & Technical Oversight

• Lead the full-cycle design of fire alarm and mass notification systems from initial concept through construction documents, including device placement, riser diagrams, sequences of operation, and supporting calculations (battery backup, voltage drop, etc.).
• Prepare detailed, code-compliant drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and technical reports using Revit, AutoCAD, or equivalent BIM and design software.
• Conduct reviews of architectural and engineering drawings to confirm compliance with life safety and fire protection requirements.
• Project Execution & Field Activities Serve as the primary technical point of contact for fire alarm systems throughout design, construction, and commissioning.
• Perform site visits, field surveys, and assessments of existing fire alarm installations.
• Review submittals, design packages, and construction documents for adherence to codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Support system testing and commissioning efforts, including development of test procedures, on-site witnessing, and documentation of results.
• Collaboration & Project Management Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), and internal teams.
• Communicate technical recommendations, findings, and project updates directly to clients.
• Oversee technical project deliverables, schedules, and scope management.
• Compliance & Team Development Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 72, NFPA 70, IBC) and emerging technologies in the field.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members, including support for professional certifications and skill development.
• Minimum Qualifications5+ years of progressive experience in fire alarm system design, consulting, or inspection.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, or similar design software.
• Preferred Qualifications NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems (Level II or higher strongly preferred).
• Experience with ASPIRE™ or similar fire alarm calculation tools.
• Solid understanding of NFPA codes, life safety requirements, and local jurisdiction standards.
• Background with mass notification systems and integrated life safety designs.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven capacity to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
