Fire Academy training assistants are needed during wildland, ventilation, live fire, and other training activities to support the lead faculty member in ensuring academy students are performing tasks in a safe and proper way. Qualifications Ability to: work effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise and firmness; demonstrate skills associated with the job in assigned subject area; communicate satisfactorily in both oral and written form; establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties. Knowledge of: the skills and abilities relevant to the area as needed to fulfill requirements of the job. Minimum Qualifications CSFM FF I certification Completion of CSFM Accredited Fire Academy Current or Previous Employment as Part- Time / Reserve Firefighter DiversityDemonstrate an understanding of, sensitivity to and appreciation for, the academic, ethnic, socio-economic, disability and gender diversity of students and staff attending or working on a community college campus.
