Job description

Powering the world's payments ecosystem

ACI powers the payments ecosystem - globally, and you power ACI.  You'll innovate, collaborate, and grow - in an energetic technology culture with decades of proven success.  ACIers - in all roles and levels - are truly your colleagues and many are your friends. Our size and reach allow you to see the global impact of your work. You are visible, your talents are valued, and you are empowered to shape the future of payments.

As a Sr Software Engineer in Omaha, NE, you will join a diverse, passionate team, dedicated to powering the world's payments ecosystem!

ACI Worldwide is looking to fill one Sr. Software Engineer position based out of its Elkhorn, Nebraska office located at 6060 Coventry Drive, Elkhorn, NE 68022. Job Summary: Design, develop, and deliver a large-scale enterprise micro-frontend platform for ACI's card authorization and unified payment framework product lines. This is a hands-on software development role with design responsibilities. The incumbent will write code, design systems, build platform infrastructure, develop shared frameworks, and create automation tooling while guiding a high performing team and coordinating with multiple cross-functional API teams to deliver mission-critical fintech systems. Utilize deep expertise in Angular, micro-frontend architecture, monorepo management, and card-based payment processing, and a track record of designing and coding enterprise-scale platforms, not just features within them. Job Accountabilities: Design and develop a large-scale enterprise micro-frontend platform using Angular, Nx monorepo, and Module Federation with multiple independently deployable applications and shared libraries serving ACI's card authorization and payment orchestration product lines. Define and enforce the front-end component architecture using layered patterns with strict dependency boundaries, automated constraint enforcement, accessibility (WCAG compliance), and internationalization (i18n). Program reusable, production-grade Angular components, services, and shared libraries. Write and maintain TypeScript code across multiple application codebases, translating complex business logic into clean, testable frontend code. Build standardized, reusable component patterns for common CRUD interactions with built-in filtering, sorting, pagination, and error handling to establish UI consistency and accelerate feature delivery. Program secure, resilient user interfaces following OWASP Top 10 guidelines, ensuring frontend code does not introduce vulnerabilities such as XSS, CSRF, insecure storage, or broken access control. Ensure secure handling of login, logout, token refresh, and session expiration flows.  Participate in threat modeling and secure design discussions for frontend features, especially those handling sensitive data, financial transactions, or privileged user actions. Work with cross-functional API teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and implement RESTful integration patterns across card authorization (ATM, POS, card management), payment orchestration, acquirer/issuer configuration, merchant management, transaction security, fraud detection, and entitlement/identity management. Design service layer abstractions, data models, and error-handling strategies for the payment transaction lifecycle including authorization orchestration, issuer/acquirer routing, network switching, and settlement workflows.  Build and maintain specialized AI agents and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers covering code generation, automated code review, security scanning, build diagnostics, and CI pipeline monitoring.  Implement agentic AI workflow pipelines that orchestrate multiple agents to automate multi-step engineering tasks such as end-to-end feature scaffolding from configuration inputs.  Develop reusable AI skills, prompt engineering templates, and agent routing configurations so that AI agents operate from verified project conventions across multiple development tools.  Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for deployment across VM-based and cloud environments (Docker, Helm, Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service).  Implement end-to-end testing frameworks using Cypress with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodology for validation of fintech workflows. Enforce code compliance, and automated quality checks across the monorepo with custom rules and scanning pipelines workflow.  Establish front-end performance metrics, monitoring strategies, and optimization practices. Guide a team of engineers across multiple business domains through code reviews, coding standards, reference implementations, and mentoring.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent accepted) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field and 7 years' progressively responsible experience in software engineering or software development. Experience must include the following specific experience and skills:

  • 7 years' experience with Angular development (components, RxJS, dependency injection)

  • 7 years' experience with Layered front-end component architecture with dependency management

  • 7 years' experience with RESTful API integration across cross-functional teams

  • 4 years' experience with TypeScript with strict mode, advanced type systems, and static analysis

  • 4 years' experience with Developer tooling development (code generators, automation scripts) using Node.js

  • 4 years' experience with Card-based payment processing domain knowledge including authorization workflows, acquirer/issuer relationships, payment network routing, and settlement processes

  • 3 years' experience with CI/CD pipeline management for VM-based environments

In return for your expertise, we offer opportunities for growth, career development, and a competitive compensation and benefits package-all within an innovative and collaborative work environment.
