Job description

SUMMARY As a Waterpark Cook, you play a crucial role in ensuring the preparation and cooking of food align with company and health department specifications. Your responsibilities include executing kitchen duties with precision, maintaining a commitment to food safety, and contributing to the overall success of the culinary operations in the waterpark. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to set procedures, and dedication to delivering high-quality food to enhance the guest experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Cleanliness
  • Guest Satisfaction
  • Provide all guests with the highest standard of food quality
  • Creating an environment that is positive, productive, and fun at work
  • Assist with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
  • Maintain a clean appearance and environment
  • Preparing food including cleaning and preparing ingredients and cooking items to specification
  • Plaiting prepared foods
  • Working as a team to ensure orders are completed according to request and on time
  • Washing and cleaning all dishes, utensils, and prep surfaces throughout shift and especially at the end of shift
  • Ensuring food safety standards and regulations are exceeded
  • Taking out trash
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities but has the potential for growth

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Prior food and beverage cooking experience preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence and complete reports detailing customer interactions. Ability to effectively present information and give directions with customers and employees.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in both written and verbal form. Ability to deal with problems involving many variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit or walk. Associates will be handling food that has high temperatures, also working with grills and friers. Employees are responsible for opening and closing procedures of the venue. May be asked to push carts, climb ladders, pull trash, carry bags/buckets of ice and unload/organize truck shipments.
