ABOUT THE JOB: 
The aim of Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) Canada is to deliver day-to-day services to Societe Generale investment and corporate bank units and their clients to accelerate their transformation. GBTO differentiates itself from competitors with the pace of the agile transformation delivered, spreading the technology and data culture, shortening the decision-making process, and adopting a true industrial approach, leveraging on different teams either transversal or aligned to the different sub business units.

The Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) team belongs to the XRM (Cross Risk Metrics) department that aims at supporting and developing tools primarily for the risk department (RISQ). You will join the CCR AMER feature team in charge of several applications including post-origination portfolio monitoring tools shared by 1LOD and 2LOD, used to digitize key forms & decisions, automate manual processes & permanent controls, create a clean audit trail, generate real-time reporting, and improve data quality.

YOUR MISSION

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
  • Participate actively in data remodeling initiatives to support the migration of applications from on-premises private cloud environments to Microsoft Azure.
  • Develop, construct, test, and maintain architecture such as databases, large-scale processing systems, and data warehouses optimized for cloud deployment.
  • Collaborate with risk analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets for analytics and machine learning.
  • Optimize data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of data systems.
  • Implement and enforce data security, governance, and compliance standards in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data systems to ensure data integrity, availability, and performance.
  • Automate repetitive data tasks and workflows to improve operational efficiency.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and cloud technologies to continuously improve data engineering processes.
  • Document data engineering processes, data flows, and system configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintenance.
  • Manage release processes, including drafting release notes, developing release scripts, and leading deployments with contingency and rollback plans.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Must Have: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. 
  • Strong proficiency with MS SQL Server 2022, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning. 
  • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics for large-scale data warehousing.
  • Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining ETL pipelines. 
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and Databricks for big data processing and transformation.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services, including data services and infrastructure management. 
  • Proficient in Python for data manipulation, automation, and scripting. 
  • Skilled in Power BI and advanced Excel techniques to create insightful dashboards and reports
  • Proficient with GitHub for source code management and collaborative development workflows.
  • Comfortable working in Unix/Linux environments for development and deployment tasks.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker. 
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
  • Experience with Java development.
  • Experience with Angular 14 and Bootstrap 5 for building responsive and user-friendly web interfaces.
  • Experience with concepts and literature related to Credit and Counterparty Risk
  • High level understanding of capital market products (secured financing transactions; derivatives) or corporate loans
