Job description

Company Description
Domino's Pizza, which began in 1960 as a single store location in Ypsilanti, MI, has had a lot to celebrate lately: we're a reshaped, reenergized brand of honesty, transparency and accountability - not to mention, great food! In the rise to becoming a true technology leader, the brand is now consistently one of the top five companies in online transactions and 65% of our sales in the U.S. are taken through digital channels. The brand continues to 'deliver the dream' to local business owners, 90% of which started as delivery drivers and pizza makers in our stores. That's just the tip of the iceberg...or as we might say, one "slice" of the pie! If this sounds like a brand you'd like to be a part of, consider joining our team!
Job Description
We are seeking a Senior / Lead Platform Engineer to design, build, and evolve a highly scalable, secure, and reliable cloud platform powering large-scale consumer-facing applications. This role will lead the development of our internal platform capabilities, enabling engineering teams to deliver software rapidly and safely through standardized, self-service infrastructure, CI/CD, and runtime services.
This position combines deep hands-on engineering with technical leadership, focusing on Azure-native architectures, Kubernetes (AKS), GitOps (FluxCD), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and modern web delivery technologies. Our Platform Engineers play a critical role in building the internal systems and automation that enable fast, reliable software delivery while abstracting infrastructure complexity from product teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Platform Architecture: Build and operate multi-region AKS platforms for high-availability, consumer-facing workloads
  • Infrastructure as Code: Develop and maintain Terraform modules for Azure (AKS, networking, App Gateway, API Management)
  • Kubernetes: Own AKS lifecycle (scaling, upgrades, networking, security, platform standards)
  • CI/CD & GitOps: Implement GitHub Actions pipelines and FluxCD-based deployments
  • Web Delivery: Optimize Front Door, CDN, ingress, WAF, and traffic routing for performance and resilience
  • Reliability: Define SLOs, improve observability, and lead incident response and root cause analysis
  • Platform Security Engineering: Embed Zero Trust, workload identities, secrets management, supply chain security, container security, and policy-driven guardrails.
  • Leadership: Mentor engineers and define platform standards and roadmap. Champion cloud technologies by leading learning sessions and outreach within the organization
  • Platform as a Product: Build and manage the platform as an internal product, focused on developer adoption, business growth, self-service capabilities, and measurable business outcomes
  • Governance & Policy as Code: Automate compliance, security standards, tagging, networking, and operational guardrails through Azure Policy, OPA, and similar frameworks
  • AI-Enabled Platform Engineering: Leverage AI-assisted operations, GitHub, Copilot governance, automation, and platform intelligence while maintaining strong operational controls and human oversight.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years in Platform Engineering / SRE / DevOps
  • Strong Azure expertise (AKS, networking, App Gateway / Front Door)
  • Deep Kubernetes experience
  • Hands-on Terraform (IaC) experience
  • Experience with GitHub + GitHub Actions
  • Experience with FluxCD or similar GitOps tools
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and high availability

Preferred
  • Experience with high-traffic consumer platforms
  • Observability tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
  • Event-driven systems (Service Bus, Kafka)
  • Experience with multi-region / multi-cluster architectures
  • Exposure to FinOps and cost optimization

Additional Information
Benefits:
• Paid Holidays and Vacation
• Medical, Dental & Vision benefits that start on the first day of employment
• No-cost mental health support for employee and dependents
• Childcare tuition discounts
• No-cost fitness, nutrition, and wellness programs
• Fertility benefits
• Adoption assistance
• 401k matching contributions
• 15% off the purchase price of stock
• Company bonus
All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
